Oh the many ways to style a wedding! There’s boho, western, rustic, fairytale, urban, I could go on and on. What do you do when you just want something simple? Nothing too flashy, nothing too loud or vibrant. How can you make something simple but not have it look bland, boring, or just blah?
I think the couple from this summer wedding nailed it. The bride wanted a simple wedding but with some elegance. Oh, was it elegant! Everything had a soft, airy essence about it. Like when the summer sun touches the leaves on trees; giving it a soft golden glow. When the sky is that light powder blue. We were definitely in the depths of a summer wedding!
The reception for the wedding was being held at RiverHaven Events Center, in Moorhead, MN. This is where the wedding party got ready. I won’t go too in depth about the venue itself. Although it is worth reading about. I go into more details about the venue in my blog: Favorites Wedding Venues of North Dakota in 2021. You can read all about it here.
The reception hall was absolutely stunning with everything decorated. The tables were covered in a heavy white linen. All the tables were decorated with eucalyptus. Eucalyptus is perfect for the simple yet elegant look. It’s also becoming quite popular in weddings. Also….it just smells so good!
The bridesmaids dresses were a light blue, just like the sky. When they all stood next to the bride, it was like Tiffany’s came to life! So beautiful! The bride’s dress was absolutely stunning! From Your Day By Nicole in Fargo, ND, it was the perfect dress for her simple and elegant wedding. The detail on the dress was incredible. I could have spent hours studying it! What really stood out to me was the variety of layers on the dress. Most dresses I have seen are lined with several layers of tulle. This dress was lined with tulle, in the inner layers. On top of that, near the outer layer, was a different kind of tulle. Now I am by no means a wedding dress expert, I just admire them and photograph them. This material was either or similar to French premium tulle. It feels a little softer and the holes are a little larger and more square. I had never seen it before but oh was it beautiful!
The guys all wore navy blue suits from Halberstadt's in Fargo, ND. If you have never heard of them, they are very top of the line. If you want to look sharp, you go to Halberstadt's. The sharp suits really helped bring elegance to the day.
The day came to an end like a fairytale. The bride and groom had their first dance. The room this happened in is almost completely surrounded by glass windows. Giving the view of large trees, grassy hills and a small river. The sun was just settling into golden hour, which caused golden light to pour through the windows and painting the bride and groom in golden light as they danced.
When the dance was over, we went outside for some sunset pictures. The bride was absolutely glowing! I don’t think the groom took his eyes off of her once! To match the softness of everything, their faces held a soft smile the entire time!
As I left the wedding that day, I could not help but smile. Everything was just so beautiful, it was calm the entire day. Most definitely like something from a story book! It was perfect.
If you are all about the visual inspo, here are some more shots from their beautiful day!
